Collection: The Malta Collection
While visiting Malta's Ancient Goddess Temples this past spring, I met an artist who's spent his life visiting the Temples, and learning everything he can about their ancient history, art history, ceremonies, and magics. I purchased some of his powerful hand-crafted artifacts while there. We've been in communication ever since.
Everything in the Malta Collection was created specifically for The Crone's Marketplace.
From amulets, pendants and talismans hand-carved from stones gathered at Temple sites, to found wood and bones crafted into ritual knives and wands, to the hand-cast Goddess statues created in terra-cotta, or the white/yellowish clay found locally on Malta--these items are charged with the power of this sacred place, and the deep intentionality of the artist. Before shipping them across the world to me, he brought all of the art pieces to the Xagħra Hypogeum, asking for the blessing of the Ancients, Ancestors, and Goddesses.
Once home, in my hands. Everything was welcomed to this continent in a ritual setting in my home. Offerings of frankincense and candlelight were made, as I welcomed these pieces and energy into my home--a waystation before they travel home to you, your altars, your magics.
Nothing in The Malta Collection is mass-produced. It took months for Aquilas to create what you see here. Created from natural objects--such as found stones, pebbles, shells, bones, pottery shards, and plaster made from local clay--each item is one of a kind. You'll notice variations in color in some of the carved pendants, that are naturally occurring in the stones they were carved from.
The obsidian knives are hand-flinted--and just gorgeous. In some light, the black stone shimmers cobalt blue!
Each item is sacred--its parts collected from the Temple sites and carved or created to close proximity to the ancient artifacts found during archeological digs at that site. Aquilas, himself, is deeply spiritually connected to these Temples. His art is not simply a job, but a priestly service to the Temples.
I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with him to bring you these one of a kind works of art that will connect you to the Ancient Ones of Malta.
