Spiral Pottery Shard Necklace
Spiral Pottery Shard Necklace
This one of a kind amulet is a powerful talisman carrying the energy of the Hgaar Qim Temple complex, high above the Mediterranean Sea. This Temple site was clearly an astronomical wonder, with a door opening to the rising sun on Summer Solstice, a Lunar window allowing the light of the full Moon at certain times of year, and a small pattern of seven holes through 4' stone walls--that let the light of the Pleiades (the Seven Sisters) shine across the Temple floor!
The dotted and spiral motif is an iconic symbol of Maltese pre-history, symbolizing eternity and the continuous cycles of life.
What a powerful talisman for Astrologers, and Priestesses working with the Stars, Moon, Sun, and the cycles of Life!
The pottery shard was found near Hgaar Qim Temple, and hand-carved by our Maltese artist. It measures 3.25"L x 2.25"W, and is hung on matching, knotted cotton. Length of necklace is adjustable using an ingenious knot-system, from 16" to 40".
