The pendant, carved from stone found near the Tarxien Temple complex boasts both the spiral motif (cycles of life, eternity, galaxies) and the petalled skirt motif found in many figurines and statues throughout Malta's temples. The artist says he was inspired, especially, by the huge skirted goddess excavated at the Tarxien Temple.
The simplicity and subtlety of this Goddess talisman is so powerful. It has a protective quality to it, IMNSHO. ;)
